The lightweight RMX-500 is the most intuitive multi-FX unit yet, combining all the best features of the club-standard RMX-1000 with a simplified layout, on-board customisation and easy access to a host of FX that can be customised from the hardware on-the-fly.
Pioneer have designed the RMX-500 with simplicity in mind and so the system is divided into three areas with clear buttons dedicated to a host of creative features.
Although the Pioneer RMX-500 is simple, it is still very versatile. The system is fitted with customise buttons which allow DJs to edit the hardware directly without the hassle of software. DJs can easily edit sounds and settings, Scene FX, backspins, brakes and echo for optimum creativity and individuality within sets. The RMX-500 is also a VST/AU/RTAS control meaning that this versatile system can also be used in the studio for production and practice.
An exciting new feature of the RMX-500 is the large pressure controller knobs that provide DJs with multi-dimensional manipulation with the use of just one hand. Once an effect has been selected, DJs can simply twist the knob to manipulate wet/dry balance and tap it to modulate sub-parameters. The pressure controller knobs alongside innovative features such as the ten auto-quantise Scene FX give DJs the power to intuitively build tracks up using noise, echo, mod and many more effects. And the ECHO+ builds upon echo for even smoother sounds and mixes. All of these instinctive controllers encourage intuitive creativity and performance.
In addition to these interesting effects, the Pioneer RMX-500 is also fitted with an easy-to-use rhythm FX section, featuring Kick, Snare, Clap, Hi Hat and Cymbal. On top of this the new Overdub button that allows DJs to create their own beats and rhythm FX combinations spontaneously on the night, whilst Signal Flow enables mixers to add Rhythm FX to Scene FX in play. And if this did not make mixing and editing simple enough, the Pioneer RMX-500 has been fitted with handy Release FX buttons that give DJs easy access to brakes, echo and backspin, allowing DJs to exit complex effect combinations with natural style.
The Pioneer RMX-500 is the ideal lightweight mixer for those looking for creativity within the boundaries of simplicity.
The RMX-500 puts dedicated buttons for five drum samples, five Audio FX and ten Scene FX at DJs’ fingertips. Then they simply rotate the large Pressure Controller knobs – one for Rhythm FX and one for Scene FX – to manipulate FX depth, and press to control sub-parameters – all in one intuitive movement. The new Customise button adds even more choice, enabling DJs to quickly select and save their preferred variations of Scene FX and drum samples. Also new is the Rhythm FX section, which provides a simple way to access the Audio FX and Overdub sequencer. Plus the RMX-500 introduces a Signal Flow button, which gives DJs the option to instantly add Scene FX to Rhythm FX. Like the club-standard RMX1000, the effector can also be used in the studio as a controller for RMX500 VST/AU/RTAS virtual plug-ins. An on-board sound card means producers can plug their headphones in to the RMX-500 for high-quality audio as they create music or master DJ sets. The small and portable RMX-500 has RCA inputs for easy connection to all CDJs in the range; DJs could even add one to each CDJ in their set-up.
